Frequently Asked Questions Regarding Our Window Tint Film Products

  • Do window tint film packages actually protect my passengers?

While you are driving anywhere in direct sunlight, harmful UV rays can affect you and your passengers just as much as if you were walking outside without sunscreen on. Window tinting is one of the simplest ways to protect your passengers and yourself from these harmful sun rays, filtering them away from any exposed skin.

  • Will window tinting help maintain my cab’s temperature?

The sun here in Beaverton and across the state of Oregon also gives off a hearty amount of infrared heat, building up inside your vehicle’s cab and making your interior surfaces extremely hot to the touch. But aside from physical contact, this exhaustive temperature will ultimately degrade electronic components and delicate surfaces. Our window tint packages reject infrared heat, keeping your vehicle’s cab much cooler and safer as well.

  • Can my window tint film peel or bubble?

If your window tint is peeling or begins to bubble for any reason, that is a sign it was not installed correctly or that it was faulty in some capacity. This rarely happens to our Ceramic Pro KAVACA Window Tint Film packages, but if it does, bring your vehicle back to Custom Details where we can safely remove the old window tint film package and install a brand new one for you! We want to make sure you get the best out of your ride.

  • Is a window tint film applied to the inside or outside of my vehicle?

Window tint film packages are applied to the interior of your windows so that they stay away from any harsh exterior environmental contamination or potential hazards that would cause defects or discrepancies. Once they are installed, be sure to treat cleaning and decontaminating them with gentle care, otherwise call on our interior auto detailing unit here at Custom Details for a proper window tint decontamination process.

Following All Regulations for the State of Oregon

Here at Custom Details, we are fully compliant with the tinting laws and regulations posted by the state of Oregon’s department of transportation. During installation, we do our best to accommodate all the needs and requests you have for your window tint film installation process while making sure your automobile is fitted with legal, safe, and professional-grade window tint film products. Let’s review what the basic rules and regulations are for window tinting in the state of Oregon.

Tint darkness for sedans may have non-reflective tint on the top 6 inches of the windshield. The front, back, and rear side windows must allow for up to 35% of visible light transmission. As far as tint reflections go, sedans must not have more than 13% reflectiveness on ANY tinting throughout the automobile. Lastly, tint regulations in Oregon restrict the following colors from being used: red, gold, yellow, amber, and black.

For larger vehicles that include trucks, SUVs, and vans, the tint darkness for any make and model has to be non-reflective and on the top 6 inches of the windshield. The front windows must allow up to 35% of visible light transmission in, while the back and rear windows may have any darkness level desired. SUVs and vans must have no more than 13% reflectiveness on any window, and similar to smaller vehicles, those same five colors are restricted.
